~Yuuki’s POV~
I’m off to New York today. He sends me and Yoshi to the airport.
“Yuuki-chan, I have to settle my works here before I go,” Satoshi said to me. I can feel that he feels guilty.
“It’s okay. I’ll go with Yoshi. You can go when your job is finish. And please take care of Satsuki for me,” I said.
“I will. Yuuki-chan, be careful,” he said.
“Hai,” I nodded.
I’m about to go but he pulls me into his hug. I’m shocked. That is the first time for 5 years, he ever hugs me.
Suddenly, he tears us apart.
“Be careful,” he said while rubbing my hair gently. He kisses my forehead. That’s also first time for 5 years.
He goes and leaves me and Yoshi. I’m clung.
I quickly realize that I’m no longer his wife. He just did that because he concerns about Yoshi. It’s not because he loves me.
~Satoshi’s POV~
I’m at New York with Sho and Satsuki. I come after a week Yuuki and Yoshi go.
“Call her, Ohno-kun,” Sho said.
I take my phone and flip it open. I dial her number.
“Moshi, moshi?” I heard that soft voice.
“Yuuki-chan?” I asked.
“Satoshi-kun? You’re here?” she asked me.
“Sou. You’re gonna pick us?” I asked.
“Of course. Wait there, I’ll come another 5 minutes,” she said and hung up.
“Papa?” Satsuki holds my coat.
“Nani?” I asked.
“Is it Mama?” she asked me.
“Hai, she’ll come here in a moment,” I said. She looks so happy.
~Yuuki’s POV~
I’m at the airport. I look around. I search for Satoshi.
I flip my phone open and call him.
“Moshi, moshi? Satoshi-kun, where are you?” I asked.
“We’re behind you,” he said. I turn around.
I see Satsuki is running towards me. I catch her and hug her.
“Let’s go to the hospital,” I said to Satoshi and he nodded.
In the journey to the hospital, Satsuki keeps talking beside me.
“We’re here. Let’s go,” I said. We’re going to Yoshi’s room.
In Yoshi’s room, there is Hana. I asked her to look after Yoshi when I’m going pick them up.
“Nii-chan!” Satsuki shouted when she saw Yoshi.
“Satsuki, don’t shout like that,” Sho said.
“Hana, arigatou for take care of Yoshi,” I said.
“It’s okay…,” she said and gasped. “Arashi,” she pointed to Satoshi and Sho.
“Ohno Satoshi desu,” Satoshi introduced himself to Hana.
“Sakurai Sho desu,” Sho introduced himself to Hana. He bows.
“Yuuki, don’t tell me…,” she pointing to Sho. “He is you husband,” she randomly accused.
Sho pointing to himself. “Me? No,” he said. “Ohno-kun is Yuuki-chan’s husband,” Sho said.
“Yuuki, you didn’t even tell me when you married,” she said.
“Gomen,” I said and a nurse comes in.
“Dr. Mimura? Dr. Albert is waiting for you,” the nurse said.
“Oh, thanks. Just a moment. I’ll be there,” Hana said.
“Yuuki, I’ll go first. But, later you have to tell me everything,” Hana said. I just grin to her.
“Who is she?” Sho asked me.
“She is my high school’s classmate. She’s practically a doctor now. She's study in Yale,” I said.
“Wow, Yale. Impressive,” he said.
“How Yoshi today?” Satoshi asked.
“The doctor checked him this morning. He said, this weekend,” I said.
~Satoshi’s POV~
The operation is this weekend. Someone’s patting my back.
“Ohno-kun, doushite?” Sho asked.
“I’m okay. I just worried about Yoshi,” I said.
“Don’t worry. He’ll be fine,” Sho said to me. I nodded.
“I hope so,” I said.
“Satoshi-kun, did she know that you both still in relationship?” Sho asked me suddenly.
“Why did you asked?” I asked him back.
“I can see that she’s trying to put a distance with you. Don’t tell me, she didn’t know?” Sho said.
“Sho-kun, there’s a more thing to worry now. Yoshi’s operation is in this week,” I said to him.
“I just don’t want you to regret it later,” Sho said and get up from his sit.
~Yuuki’s POV~
It’s today. Yoshi’s operation. I’m so scared. What if something happen to him? I can feel my hands shake.
“Ms. Ohno, you can meet the patient now. Before he’s going to the operation room,” the nurse said.
“Yes, I’ll. Thanks,” I said.
I go and meet Yoshi.
“Mama, is it painful?” Yoshi’s asked me.
“I don’t know, sweetheart. But, if it’s painful, just cry, okay? Let the nurse know,” I told him.
“Papa!” he said. I turn around. I see Satoshi is there with Sho and Satsuki.
“Yoshi, be strong, okay?” he said.
“Hai,” he nodded.
“Nii-chan, ganbate kudasai,” Satsuki said.
“Hai,” he nodded happily.
The nurses come in and pull his bed. They’re entering the operation room.
I sit there in front of the operation room with Satoshi, Sho and Satsuki.
~Satoshi’s POV~
The atmosphere is so tense. No one is talking. Even Satsuki is just sitting there.
We’re waiting there for 3 hours already but the doctor still didn’t come out. Satsuki is sleeping already.
“Are you guys thirsty? I’ll go and buy drinks,” I said.
“Yeah, arigatou, Ohno-kun,” Sho said.
“Hai, arigatou, Satoshi-kun,” she said.
I nodded. I go to the cafeteria to buy some drinks for them.
Ah! I’m so worry about Yoshi.
~Yuuki’s POV~
Satoshi goes to buy some drinks.
“Yuuki-chan? What’s you status now?” Sho suddenly asked me.
“My status? I’m single, of course. I’m no longer his wife,” I said. Why asking me all of sudden?
“I knew it. You didn’t know right. You’re still his wife,” Sho said. I’m shocked.
Suddenly, the doctor comes out. I go to the doctor immediately. I’m practically forgot what Sho just said.
“How’s it?” I asked the doctor.
“I’m so sorry. We’ve done our best. We can’t save him. I’m sorry,” he said calmly.
“No, no, no. No! Do something, you’re a doctor, right?” I shouted and cried there. I don’t care anymore. I just want my son. I pulled the doctor’s coat.
~Satoshi’s POV~
“No, no, no. No! Do something, you’re a doctor, right?” she shouted and crying. She pulls the doctor’s coat.
I immediately go to her and hug her. I tried to calm her.
“Doushite, Sho-kun?” I asked.
“Yoshi, he’s gone,” Sho said. Oh god! Why? My heart is broken into a trillion pieces. He’s gone?
“Satoshi-kun,” she cried my name. “Yoshi’s gone. I’m a bad mother,” she said.
She collapsed in my arms.
“Nurse, help!” Sho shouted. Even Satsuki is wake.
“Papa, doushita? What’s wrong with Mama?” she asked.
I can’t even say a word. The nurses come and take Yuuki to the ward. She must be so shocked. Even I’m shaking now. My son is gone forever. I cry there.
“Papa, doushita?” Satsuki asked me. I pull her into my hug.
