Under the Same Sky: Chapter 17

~Yuuki’s POV~

“Your mother isn’t playing with you, Yuuki-chan,” a voice said. I turn around. It’s Sho.

“What are you guys talking about? I’ve signed the divorce paper,” I said.

“You signed it but he didn’t,” Sho said. What’s actually happen here?

“What are you talking about? I’m divorced already, it is 5 years ago,” I said.

“He didn’t sign the divorce paper. I’ve seen it,” he said eagerly.

“What? Why he didn’t tell me? Why he asked me to sign it?” I asked persistently.

“It’s my fault, Yuuki. I told him to do that,” Okaa-san said with teary eyes.

“Why he asked me sign if he didn’t want to divorce me?” I asked.

“I told him to do it. If you didn’t think that you’re divorced, you wouldn’t go to New York,” Okaa-san said.

“What? Why he didn’t tell me?” I said.

“He did this for you. For the sake of your dream,” Sho said.

A tear is falling down. He’s sacrificed for me. And I didn’t even know it.

~Satoshi’s POV~

“Papa…,” Satsuki called my name.

“Yes, dear?” I said. She comes and sits at my lap.

“Why Mama didn’t stay with us? I want Mama to stay here,” Satsuki said.

“I really wanna stay here too, Satsuki,” a voice said. Satsuki and I turn around. It’s Yuuki.

“Mama!” Satsuki shouted and run towards her.

“Satsuki want Mama to stay here?” she asked Satsuki.

“Hai,” Satsuki nodded and yawned.

“Let’s go to your room,” she said. I stay at the living room. She said she wants to stay here?

“Satoshi-kun, Satsuki is sleeping,” she said and sits beside me.

“Why did you lie to her? You don’t wanna stay here, right?” I said.

“I don’t lie. It’s you who is lying,” she said.

“What do you talking about?” I asked her.

“You lied about my status. You didn’t even tell me that I’m still your wife. I know it from other people’s mouth. Don’t you know how I feel?” she asked. She knows it already.

“Who told you?” I asked.

“Sho-kun, Okaa-san. Why did you lie to me? Why you didn’t tell me the truth?” she asked.

“I do it for…,” I was about to say.

“For what? My dream? New York? It’s not even mine. It’s Yuuka’s,” she said. “For 5 years, I thought I’m no longer your wife,” she said. I can’t even open my mouth. She takes a deep breath.

“Do you know how I feel when you’re not by my side? Do you know that I really miss you and the kids? Do you even care about my feelings?” she asked me persistently. Her eyes are getting teary.

“Gomenasai,” I said. It’s all I can say now. A tear starts to roll over her cheek.

“Do you know how scared I am when I am all by myself? Do you know how I hope that you will appear when I meet the kids once a month? Do you know how I miss you? Do you…,” she continued and stopped when I suddenly hug her.

“Gomenasai,” I said and hug her even tighter. I know how it feels, Yuuki. I felt it too.

I can still hear she’s crying.

~Yuuki’s POV~

I choose to tell him everything. I’ve been keeping this feeling for 5 years. I kept all my feeling for him. I exposed everything. I don’t care of anything now. I just want my family back.

“Yuuki-chan, gomenasai,” he said again.

I tear us apart.

“Don’t keep saying sorry! It’s not even your fault,” I said.

“I love you. I can’t afford to lose you if I ever signed that paper,” he said. I smile and cry. Along the 6 years I married him, he never said it.

“Please don’t cry,” he said.

“It’s the first time, you said you love me. I’m so happy. Can you say it for five times?” I said. He laughs.

“I love you, Yuuki-chan, Love you, love you, love you, love you, love you,” he said and smiled. He pulls me into his hug.
