That day, I was hospitalized. My leg got injured from the soccer match. It’s hurt. It’s broken. The result of it, I got to stay in the hospital for a week.
I got warded with a girl with pale skin. And, here, at the hospital, it was so boring and quiet. And, I really need to talk. I’m bored. So, I decided to talk with this pale girl.
“Hi! Nice to meet you!” I said as I waved to her. But, no sound from her mouth at all. That makes the room stay in quietness for the whole day.
That night while I was about to sleep, she suddenly walked to the window and sat there. Doesn’t she want to sleep?
“Hey, what are you doing?” I asked as she turned her head to me. “Not sleeping at this hour?” I continued asking but she totally ignored it! Maybe, she’s mute and deaf. But, there was a response when I asked her. Mute, maybe?
“You’re mute?” I asked since I want some confirmation. “You’re mute, right?” I asked again as she continuously ignoring me.
“You can use sign language?” I asked again with some hand movement. “You can’t?” I guessed since she doesn’t even look at me.
“I’m not mute. Now, you go sleep,” she suddenly said and I counted that as the confirmation that she can talk normally.
I took my crutch and walked to her with the help of it and sat next to her, at the window.
“What are you doing?” I asked again the same question that she passed just now.
She didn’t answer but continuously staring at the snowflakes outside the window. I look at the very same direction that she did.
“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” I said to break the quietness and smiled when I found the snowflakes are beautifully fall from the sky.
“What’s your name?” I asked as I wanted to know her since this morning.
“Don’t you mouth hurt?” she asked me. I thought she wanted to tell me her name when she opened her mouth.
“Why? What’s wrong?” I asked when she said that. I thought it was just my leg that broke. Now, what’s wrong with my mouth?
“You’re smiling all the time and you’re talking non-stop. Don’t you think your mouth need to rest a bit?” she said as I looked at her in the eyes but she ran her eyes that instant.
“It can rest when I sleep,” I said whatever that crossed in my mind.
From her expression, I could tell that she wanted to laugh but she held it. She just threw a bitter smile.
“You’re smiling too. Is it hurt?” I asked and she was, again, with her quietness.
“So, what’s your name?” I asked again as I wanted to know.
“Ye Eun,” she said as I glad she did.
“Good! I waited all day long to get that,” I said exactly what I felt. “I’m Jun Su. Kim Jun Su,” I introduced myself and took out my hand to offer it to her.
She looked at my hand with expressionless face. I just grabbed her hand into mine and did the handshake myself. She gave me her awkward expression as I continued talking.
“I hurt my leg when I was playing in a match yesterday. Thank god, we won. If not, I’ll be very sorry to them,” I said as there was no response from her.
I walked closer to her and found out that her eyes were shut. Am I that bored? Whatever, I carried her and out her on her bed and let her slept soundly there as I also slept on my bed.

That morning, I was walking at the garden with all the snow on all the way there. Then, I walked to Chang Min’s office as I know he worked here.
“Chang Min~,” I called out his name when I exactly in front of his office.
“Ah, hyung!” he said as he saw me. “You break your leg?” he asked as he saw my right leg was bandaged.
“It’s okay. It’s not hurt anymore. I’m staying here for a week,” I said as I move my right leg a bit to prove that it wasn’t that hurt anymore.
“It’s good then,” he said in relief.
“By the way, we won the match,” I said happily as he also showed his excited expression. “This leg worth it,” I said as we both laughed.
Then, someone knocked the door. “Coming,” Chang Min said and girl in nurse outfit entered the room.
“Ah, Hwa Young. Did you go and see Ye Eun this morning?” he asked as he saw the nurse. His expression looked worried.
“I did and I found that she was sleeping soundly on her bed,” she said in happy tone and she smiled.
“That’s good then,” he said in happiness. The worries in his face faded away.
“Is this that Ye Eun on the ward 513?” I asked as I was in curiosity.
“Yes, you know her?” Chang Min asked me.
“I’m her ward mate,” I said. “She and I talked last night,” I said again as I wanted told him that I know her just last night.
“Talk more to her, hyung. She needs someone even though it doesn’t look like it,” he said.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I walked to the room with my crutch. I opened the door and saw Ye Eun was sitting on her bed.
“Good morning, Ye Eun!” I said to her. I walked to her and sat on her bed, beside her.
“I was walking around the hospital and around the garden too,” I said to her what I’ve been doing this morning. “It’s snowing! It’s fun to play with it, you know?” I talked to her as I wanted to bring up the atmosphere.
“Was it you?” she asked and I eventually stopped talking and looked at her face, directly to her eyes.
She ran her eyes from mine and said, “Did you take me to my bed last night?” she asked again.
“Yeah, I saw you slept when I was talking to you,” I said as I continued looking at her. “It was rude, you know? I’m talking like crazy person,” I joked to her as I wanted to make her smile.
“I’m sorry,” she said with guilty tone. “And, thank you,” she said.
“It’s okay, and I was joking about talking like crazy person. So, don’t be sorry,” I said as I explained to her.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I fake a yawn.
“Hey, why don’t you sleep now?” I said as I fake another yawn.
“I want to watch the sky, the snow,” she said without look at me, she looked at the sky.
“Just watch it tomorrow. Tomorrow never dies. It will surely come,” I said again and fake a yawn again to prove that I was totally sleepy.
“If you’re sleepy, then, go sleep,” she said and still didn’t even move from her spot.
“Let’s sleep now! Or else, I tell Doctor Shim that you aren’t sleeping all night,” I said to her. But she still not moved anywhere.
I walked to her and took her hand as I said, “Please get some sleep. I couldn’t stand to just look at your sleepless night while I can’t accompany you,” I said and move her to her bed with my hand.
“Tomorrow, we’ll watch the snow together. I’ll take you play outside,” I said to her as I put the blanket over her. “Don’t worry, tomorrow will always come,” I said as I lied on my bed.
After a minute, I walked to her and found out that she was sleeping. I pressed my lips to her forehead.
“Tomorrow will be the last day I’m here. How I hope tomorrow won’t come and time will freeze and stop here forever,” I said as I returned to my bed and staring at the ceiling until I eventually sleep.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Let’s play outside,” I said as she woke up that morning.
“I can’t, it’s too cold. It’s unbearable,” she said as she looked at the snow outside.
“I hope this is enough,” I said as I gave her double sweater and helped her wore it.
“It is warm?” I asked as she nodded. I gave the gloves and she wore it. And, lastly, I wrapped her with a scarf.
“One more clothes and you will look like rice ball,” I joked and she gave me a small laugh.
“Sit here,” I said as I pointed to the wheelchair. “I’ll push it,” I said as I started push it to outside.
“Is it cold?” I asked as I felt a breeze on my face when we were outside the hospital.
“No, it’s warm,” she said and smiled. Oh, how I hope the time will stop here. I really wanted to spend more time with her.
“She didn’t have much time left,” Chang Min said as I asked him about Ye Eun’s health.
“What? Can’t you do something?” I asked him as I’m so worried about her.
“I’m sorry but I’ve been trying. It’s already a miracle that she survived until now,” he said and the statement really killing me.
“Another one attack and even the expert couldn’t save her,” he said again and it’s really killed me.
“Please give a slight happiness before she left this world,” Hwa Young said as she also there from the beginning.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Ye Eun, I’m discharged today,” I said as I packed all my belongings into my bag.
“Thanks for accompanying me while I’m here,” I said as she just nodded. I just hope she would smile.
“I’ll be back to visit you, kay?” I said as she didn’t even look at my face.
“I’m going and no words from you?” I said as I really wanted to hear her voice.
“Bye,” she said and lied on her bed as she turned her back to me. Thanks, Ye Eun. That’s more than enough.
“I’m going,” I said as she didn’t look at me. “I’ll be back,” I said again and slightly promising this time. “And, remember my word. Tomorrow will come, surely will come,” I said and walked to the door and walk away.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I saw a snowflakes keychain on my way back. Ye Eun crossed my mind. I end up bought that thing.
After I walked out that shop, my phone was ringing. It was Chang Min.
“Hyung! Hurry come! She got attacked,” I heard Chang Min’s worried voice and before I could say anything, he hung up.
Without wasting any second, I speedily ran to the hospital.
But, before I could enter the hospital’s entrance, I got hit. It was hurt. The pain was unbearable. My vision got blurred. By times, it got more blur and blur until everything was vague. All I heard was people’s noise around me. My body gotten weaker and weaker until I couldn’t move.
Ye Eun, I wanted to meet you but I couldn’t move. What should I do? I was not moving anymore…
