Under the Same Sky: Chapter 3

~Satoshi’s POV~

“Sayuri, go and see your brother,” Otou-chan said. I heard it. I am on my way to downstairs.

“No need, I’m here,” I said. I saw many people there. I see a young girl that stares at me. I see that pure face. I can feel the peace and calm in my feeling.

“Satoshi, come here,” Otou-chan said to me.

“This is Ohno Ryou, my brother,” Otou-chan introduced him to me.

“Otou-san,” I called him that way. I shake hand with him.

“And this, your Okaa-san, Yumiko,” Okaa-chan said. I just nodded.

“And, your fiancée, Yuuki-chan, ne,” Sayuri added. I hate when she said that to tease me.

“Sayuri, go and make coffee for us,” Okaa-chan said to Sayuri.

“Hai,” Sayuri walks to kitchen.

“I’ll go and help Sayuri-san, ne,” she said and walks to the kitchen as well.

“No, sweetheart. You go to the garden with Satoshi,” Okaa-chan said.

“Hai, you guys should have a nice conversation,” my mother-in-law-to-be said. Oh god! I can’t have a conversation with a girl. What should I talk about?

“Satoshi, take Yuuki to garden, okay?” Okaa-chan said. I have no choice but to agree with it. I just nodded. Then, I make my way to garden.

“Follow him, Yuuki,” my mother-in-law-to-be told her. She is walking behind me.

~Yuuki’s POV~

“Follow him, Yuuki,” Okaa-san told me. So, I’m walking behind him. We go to the garden and sit at the round table at the garden.

The atmosphere is so awkward. There’s no single word coming out of my mouth or his mouth. We just stay silent.

“Yuuki-san,” he called my name for the first time after 10 minutes.

“Nani?” I asked him back without looking at his face.

“Nothing, I just don’t know what to talk about,” he said. I just stay silent.

“Yuuki-san, why did you agree?” he asked me. This question is the question that I really wanna avoid.

“I do this for my parents,” I said to him. I guess I really should be honest with him.

“Me too. But, they did this for the sake of money,” he said. I know it but I can’t disobey my Otou-san. No matter how I beg, he’d never listen to me.

“I really want to know you. At least, we can live together for a long time, right?” he said. I stay silent for that moment.

“At least, we should try, right?” he said and looks into my eyes. Oh! Please don’t do that.

“H… Hai,” I stuttered. I lower my head. So, I don’t have to see that eyes.

“Yuuki-chan… Can I call you that way?” he asked. I nodded. “You can call me Satoshi then,” he continued.

“Hai, Satoshi-kun,” I said to him.

~Satoshi’s POV~

“Hai, Satoshi-kun,” she said to me. She didn’t even lift her head. She still looking at her fingers and playing with it.

The situation becomes silent again. At first, I really don’t wanna accept her in my life. I don’t know why but I really feel calm when I see her face. Maybe I can give her a chance and myself a chance. If I married her, then Otou-chan can’t question my contribution to the family and company. And I believe she will be a good wife for me.

“Nii-chan, they called you. Bring Yuuki-chan inside,” Sayuri said to me.

“Let’s go,” I said to her. I take her hand and lead her inside.

“Ah, Satoshi, Yuuki. We’ve discuss about your marriage. End of this month. Two weeks for now,” Otou-chan said. I look around. I look everyone. I stop at my father-in-law-to-be. He’s glaring at Yuuki. I can feel that she’s holding my hand harder and trying to not look at her father.

“Ah, we’re just okay about that,” I said on her behalf.

I look at Yuuki. She’s still lowering her head. I pulled her to sit besides me. Our parents are talking to each other. Sayuri also join our mother’s conversation. I look at her and smile. She smiles too. The smile shows her dimple. It makes her looks more beautiful.

“Ah, I’m going back first,” my father-in-law-to-be said to Otou-chan.

“Hai, hai. Let’s send them off,” Otou-chan said. Yuuki and I get up from our sit. She walks to her mother.

“Ja matta ne, Yuuki-chan,” Okaa-chan said and hugs her. Sayuri did the same thing to her too.

“Ja ne, Yumiko,” Okaa-san said to her mother and hugs her mother too.

“Yuuki-chan, ja matta ne,” I said to her. She nodded and smiled.

“Sayonara ne,” Okaa-chan said when they’re off.
