~Satoshi’s POV~
That day, Okaa-chan and Otou-chan went to the lawyer office. It’s about Oji-chan’s will. I guess it’s about properties. Since Otou-chan has a brother, the Ohno’s Company has to divide into two, I guess. Whatever. It doesn’t concern me at all, since my Onii-chan can take care of the company. I’ll just stick to what I’m doing now.
But, when they back at that evening, there was a news that they gonna tell me.
“So, what it is?” I asked.
“Omedettou! You’re going to be someone’s husband!” Okaa-chan replied my question in happy tone.
I was so shocked, “Eh?” I exclaimed.
“You’re going to be married,” Okaa-chan repeated it.
“I heard it, Okaa-chan. Demo, nande? Otou-chan,” I asked while looking at Okaa-chan and Otou-chan respectively.
“It was on your Oji-chan’s will. My son has to marry. Otherwise, the company is sold and the money is given to the orphanage,” Otou-chan explain it. But, it doesn’t satisfy me.
“Demo, why me? Why not Sadao Nii-chan?” I pointed to Onii-chan who sits beside me.
“Well, Sadao is too old for her and he is engaged Ayano-chan now. Since this family has only two sons, I think you’re the one,” Okaa-chan told me.
“Sou ne, she couldn’t marry me,” Sayuri added. I gave her a sidelong look.
“Okaa-chan, I’m an idol. I can’t get married. That’s the rules for my job,” I proclaimed the rules of my job to Okaa-chan.
“Look, Satoshi. I don’t care. You have to do this. Think about it carefully, Satoshi. You never had done anything for this family. You run away when I told you to finish your school and work for the company. This time, you can’t say ‘IIE’ anymore,” Otou-chan finish his word and walk away.
“Kaa-chan…,” I looked at Okaa-chan.
“I can’t help you, Satoshi. This time you have to obey your father. She is gonna be here this weekend. So, be ready,” Okaa-chan informed me.
“Who is ‘she’?” I asked Okaa-chan. I looked Sayuri and she raised her shoulder and gave me the I-don’t-know look.
“She is your only cousin, Yuuki-chan,” Okaa-chan’s answer really makes my jaw dropped. I looked Sayuri and Sadao Nii-chan respectively.
“I’ll pass,” Sadao Nii-chan get up from the sofa and left the living room. He left me, Okaa-chan and Sayuri.
“Chotto matte, Yuuki-chan?” Sayuri suddenly said.
“Demo, Okaa-chan, I never met her,” I proclaimed.
“Are you forgotten her?” Okaa-chan asked me. She makes me remember that, actually, I have met her before.
“Okaa-chan, I met her when she was just baby. I was 11 years old back then. That’s make her 11 years younger than me and you actually say, I’m the one who fits her? And, she’s not my only cousin, right? I thought she has twin sister,” I was really shocked.
“Satoshi, this family only has two sons. That’s you and Sadao. Sadao is 37 years old this year which means he’s 20 years old older than Yuuki-chan. You are the better option. About her twin, Yuuka, she died 4 years ago,” Okaa-chan explained and left me and Sayuri alone.
“What am I gonna do now?” I sighed. I looked Sayuri.
“I don’t know, Nii-chan,” Sayuri said.
“Yuri, she’s even younger than you,” I proclaimed.
“Nii-chan, ganbate!” Sayuri said and left me alone.
~Yuuki’s POV~
“Prepare yourself, Yuuki. You’re getting married,” Otou-san’s voice sound firm when he talked to me.
“Eh? Otou-san, I didn’t even can take care of myself. I couldn’t be a proper wife,” I proclaimed.
“You could and you should be. You can cook well. You even tidy your room by yourself since you are 13 years old. It shouldn’t be difficult for you to do that. I don’t care. You have one month to prepare. Ask your Okaa-san,” Otou-san said.
“What? Demo…,” I said but Otou-san intercepted my dialogue.
“No buts, Yuuki. You’re my daughter. You should obey me. This is a command,” Otou-san firmly proclaimed.
“Okaa-san, onegai,” I pleaded to Okaa-san. Okaa-san just looked at me with I-couldn’t-do-anything look.
“Otou-san, please don’t do this to me. Onegaishimasu,” I started to cry and almost kneeling in front of him.
“Shut up. Just obey me,” Otou-san exclaimed to me.
“Otou-san, I don’t wanna do this. I always obey you, all the time. I never say ‘IIE’ to your commands. But, please, just this time. I don’t wanna do this. This thing will concern my whole life. I just a high school student. I…,” Pang!!! Otou-san slapped me and left. It was the first time of my life. He never slapped me. I started to cry.
“Yuuki…,” Okaa-san placed her hand on my cheek. “I’m sorry, I couldn’t do anything for you,” Okaa-san hugged me.
“Otou-san, onegai. I always obey you. Just for this time, could you consider my feeling too? This is about my future. Onegaishimasu,” I grasped his hand. I begged him.
Otou-san pushed me away. “Shut up. It’s up to me to decide what kind of future you will have,” he said.
“Okaa-san, onegai. Please talk to Otou-san,” I hold Okaa-san’s hand.
“Ryou, please reconsider it…,” Okaa-san started to persuade Otou-san.
Otou-san intercepted Okaa-san’s dialogue. “You don’t have to interfere, Yumiko. I’m making the right decision. From now on, just take care of your daughter,” Otou-san said to Okaa-san.
“Starting from today, just stay home after school. You’re not allowed to go out anymore. Understand? This weekend, you have to meet him. Did you get me?” Otou-san commanded me and left me alone with Okaa-san.
I hugged Okaa-san and cried at her shoulder. Okaa-san was trying to comfort me.
